First Time Creating a Blog

Oh, boy! This is the first time I have actually set up a blog. It is very interesting and exciting to learn something new. I hope that I set up everything correctly. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know.
My name is Teresa Rubio. I have lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina all my life. I have two daughters, two granddaughters, one cat, one dog, and a supportive husband. I will be the first one in my family to obtain a four year degree, which is one of my motivations. My other motivations stem from some people’s perception that older people cannot be successful later in life and the love for children. When I first started my goal to achieve something for my life, I had two young children to balance and a full time job. You see things are doable, if you have a driven purpose or love to do so. I have always heard that, things do not come easy in life. I believe you should work for everything that you obtain because you appreciate it more. Graduation is not that far in my future, Spring 2013. After, graduation I plan on working in the Cumberland County School System until I retire. I am hoping when I get into a teaching position to return to UNC Pembroke for a Masters Degree. Teaching has not always been in my mind set for my career. I actually never realized until I took a substitute position in a Pre-K class that it was my destiny to teach. I was a teacher assistant for ten years, until this past year when I was budget cut. I am strong minded and I am determined to return to the classroom.  In ten years, I see myself having a Masters Degree and teaching first graders or second. In twenty years, I will be retiring from the school system but maintaining open volunteering visits to read to students. When children are around you, how can you frown? Even those children, who are a challenge, touch your heart. I had an instructor say that it is impossible to reach every student, but I think that it should be set as your goal. Every child in the classroom should feel loved and special.
